I did this for my well-being; your turn
I have had an absolutely blissful week! Last week, I felt inspired to take a week off Instagram for my well-being. I was on holiday for the 2nd half of March, and I took a break from creating posts then. Once I came back, I still wasn’t really feeling it.
Creating in general – not just content – was feeling like a chore, and I wasn’t enjoying it. I have a lot of ideas of what I want to create, however, I just didn’t feel like executing them. This was a sign for me to take a mental break.
I have a rule, I only create from Source, not from force. I don’t see the point in creating a space of not enjoying it.
So I took a break. I went off Instagram for a week. Along with that, I cut off other external stimulation like learning new things or engaging in new activities for conscious growth and well-being. I also took a break from growth meditations and visualizations. I took time off from creating anything new related to work and business as well.
I decided to just be and enjoy where I am.
It was such a good decision! I feel refreshed and so ready to create. Here are a few things I did over the past week that have taken me to places of deeper peace and pleasure. It’s essentially a list of things that I love and do anyway, but this week was ONLY about these things.
1. Hair and Face-care
I started enjoying hair care and skin care only a couple of years ago.
For hair care, I have been thoroughly enjoying oiling and masks. I found this Hibiscus Monkey oil recently and have been using it once a week to massage my scalp. Since I have curly hair, I use this Ashba Botanics Deep Treatment Mask, once a week, for my hair.
Personally, I never oil and mask at the same time because it just becomes too much for my hair to handle. I use oil to nourish my scalp; never oil the strands. I use the mask to nourish and moisturise my strands.
For face-care, I LOVE @karina_na_more’s face marathon. I have been practising her posture exercises for 2 years now. You will find these in her Face Marathon 1.0. where she explains how your posture has an impact on your circulation and fascia, therefore impacting your face and skin.
Apart from this, I started using Clinique’s 7-Day Scrub Cream last week and I LOVE it!
PS. I always follow up with moisturizer and a face massage. Face massage courtesy Karina again.
2. Movement
When I take time for myself, I move more. Even when I travel, I move more.
This last week I have been enjoying some of my favourite yoga practices by Yoga with Adriene. This Calm Your Nerves practice encapsulated me in a feeling of zen. I also did this Yoga for Chronic Pain practice because I had a neck spasm a couple of days ago.
Movement is one of my favourite ways to express love for my body and myself. Just telling you about it right now fills me up with LOVE.
If you have been wanting to build a consistent movement practice for a while now, but just can’t seem to, you can sign up for The Life-Sorter Bundle. In this self-paced series, I give you all the mindset tools you need to become effortlessly consistent in your life.
3. Meditations
As I said earlier, I took a break from growth-oriented meditations over the last week for my overall well-being. I take these kinds of breaks quite often when my mind gives me the signal that it is time to integrate my learnings or to just rest for a while.
I still meditate though, because it is an integral part of my day. I usually just observe my breath or body. While I do this, I have one of these 2 songs playing in the background: Gratitude and Weightless.
You can play these 2 tunes in the background as you work or do your chores. In fact, a study done on the song “Weightless” showed that listening to it can reduce 65% of overall anxiety.
4. Fun new experiences
One of my intentions for this year is to have NEW experiences; first-times essentially. Needless to say, it has been happening effortlessly. I had one such experience this week when I watched an IPL match LIVE!
We also played a new game when we visited our friends over the weekend. Oh, it was such fun! Come to think of it, I’ve spent a lot of time playing games this year. Actual games. Not the mind games types; which I never enjoyed anyway!
I also visited new cafes/ restaurants this week with my friends. If you’re ever in Hyderabad, check out Monastery and Katha.
5. A few of my favourite things
I’ve watched a lot of movies and shows this week. We’ve been watching reruns of Schitt’s Creek and Suits. Is it possible to not be a Schitt’s Creek fan?
I’ve also been chilling a lot in bed. I totally love the feeling of being under the blanket in an air-conditioned room. I usually don’t nap, but this week I took the best 2-hour nap!
I’ve also ordered myself one of my favourite cakes this week from @sokeri_hyderabad.
Cake with coffee is a pleasure ritual that I have had for years now and it has become a part of my self-love and adds to my well-being. It transports me to a different vibrational level!
6. Private Coaching Calls
Sessions with Private Clients were my first love as a Coach. While I took a break from creating new things for the business and onboarding new clients, Private Coaching sessions were still in full swing. They give me a different kind of energy.
This morning in a Private Client session we released an un-resourceful emotion from a past life! That’s the magic of working with the Unconscious mind.
Think of an un-resourceful emotion you feel daily or constantly. It could be a small one, like irritation. Now imagine what it would feel like if you didn’t feel that emotion in all future scenarios where you might be experiencing it right now. I’m sure just thinking of it makes you feel relieved right now!
Feel free to book a Private Coaching session with me if you wish to address any fears, limiting beliefs, blocks or un-resourceful emotions or difficulty achieving your overall well-being.
PS. I would absolutely love to know what your favourite self-care ritual is! Maybe I can add another to mine 😛
Love Raashi
